5 Essential ways to reach Vibrant Health
Oct 29, 2022While eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly are still considered the building blocks of health, we understand now that this is not enough to feel vibrantly healthy in today's world. The problem is that many symptoms and most illnesses stem from stress and, of course, poor nutrition and lack of exercise only make things worse. So in addition to eating well and keeping our bodies moving, we need to learn new skills to become impermeable to the stressors in our lives.
Stress leads to many issues, but one of the most important is disturbed sleep. Sleep is the main way we regenerate our bodies and minds and maintain health. During deep and REM sleep especially, while our bodies are fasting, we are detoxifying and burning calories. When we are sleep deprived and are pushing through to attend our daily lives, we are gradually exhausting our adrenals. When we have reached this point, exercising may even become counterproductive. We want to avoid this so-called "adrenal fatigue" by supporting our bodies and minds with practices that help us regenerate even when we don't have enough sleep. Eventually by regulating our nervous system, we are able to reestablish a healthy circadian rhythm and sleep longer and deeper.
Our Highbe programs are addressing the 5 Limbs of Health that help build this Stress Resilience.
- Nutrition: Optimizing cellular function with Diet and Supplements
- Breathwork: Building Energy with Breathing and Movement
- Meditation: Clearing the Mind and Finding Inner Peace
- Mind Guided Body Scans: Activating Self-Healing and Regeneration
- Relationships: Creating New Healthy Patterns for our Well Being
Nutrition: What we should eat depends on our body type, genetics, the climate we live in, and our level of activity. Learn how to choose essential foods for your health that provide you with energy rather than empty calories and how to supplement with highly absorbable nutrients at the optimal dose.
Breathwork: When we breathe superficially and "out of rhythm", our minds become agitated and this causes more stress to the body, resulting in a toxic build-up leading to aches and pains and poor digestion. Our breathing exercises are specifically designed to flush away toxins and increase blood flow, which enhances the absorption of foods and supplements.
Meditation: Breathing prepares the mind and the body for meditation. Breathing is the bridge from the outside world into our inner world where we can calm down our fears and our racing thoughts. Meditation doesn't happen to us because we sit cross-legged in a quiet room, and many people feel discouraged when they jump into meditation without a preparation that calms down their nervous system. We are providing a gradual approach to meditation that is accessible to everyone and yields long term results.
Mind-guided Body Scans: A meditative experience that takes you into the discovery of your "Miracle Factory", your body. As you become more in touch with the processes that are taking place in your body, you start activating your "inner pharmacy" which helps you regenerate and selfheal.
Relationships: We need to have good control over our emotions to have healthy relationships that bring us peace rather than chaos. What matters is our reaction to another person's behavior or to a situation, and we need tools to master our reactions so we can avoid a cascade of stressful events that eventually put a burden on our health. Both Mind and Breathing practices help us gain control over our thoughts and our emotions, and as a result, we are acting mindfully rather than reacting.
